In present day situation, there are people with no smartphone but there will be no person without a Social media account like Facebook or Instagram. These have become a part of our lives. Whatever you do, where ever you go – everything will be updated to these accounts.
So have you ever wondered what happens to these Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts after your death?
Here’s the answer to this question:
Facebook deletes your account permanently or converts the profile into a memorial page after the user passes away. Facebook provides an option to choose a legacy contact who has limited access to control your account once the user dies.
Instagram doesn’t have the option like Facebook to allow someone to access your account but it converts your account into a memorialized one. All your photos and videos will stay in it forever but these will not appear in public searches.
Twitter provides an option to authorize an account of a died person but that person must provide a list of proofs like a death certificate, copy ID etc. However, the authorized person can only have the access to deactivate the account but not to send any tweets.
